ASIMOB monitors the roads of the provincial and local network of the Diputación de Zamora through Artificial Intelligence
ASIMOB is ending the monitoring of the condition of the traffic signs, road markings, protection barriers and the detection of the status of the pavement of the local and regional road network managed by the Diputación de Zamora. Through Computer Vision and sensors on board the vehicles of the maintenance company, Diputación de Zamora will obtain complete and objective information on the condition of all its roads, which will allow it to make decisions based on objective data.
This project is being carried out thanks to the innovative capacity of Elsamex, a conservation and maintenance company in charge of maintaining the more than 1,500 km road network in the province of Zamora, which required the services of ASIMOB to be able to address the monitoring fast and efficiently.
Secondary roads are the roads where most accidents occur and, on the other hand, those that traditionally have the lowest budget for maintenance and improvement. Having accurate information is very important to be able to manage such limited budgets. Furthermore, with the advent of driver assistance systems and autonomous vehicles, all infrastructure managers will need to monitor the physical parameters of the road, to ensure that their roads are facilitating, not hindering, the adoption of these innovations.
