In the new contracts for maintenance of the Region of Madrid, Artificial Intelligence tools are going to be essential for compliance with the indicators that have been established in the tenders.
In the latest edition of the Road Week, organized by the Spanish Road Association and held in Madrid last March, both Pablo Ladrero, head of the Conservation Area of the General Directorate of Roads of the Region of Madrid, and Ibon Arechalde, CEO of ASIMOB, showed in two presentations how Artificial Intelligence is being used on the roads of the Region.
Pablo Ladrero’s presentation focused on the results obtained in the tests carried out on some roads in the southeast of Madrid, which have made it possible to analyze the roads with much more data than that provided in the traditional inspection. The presentation made it clear that, in the new contracts for maintenance of the Community of Madrid, the Artificial Intelligence tools are going to be essential for compliance with the indicators that have been established in the tenders.
Ibon Arechalde’s presentation focused on the technical aspects of the solution, showing through videos how these Autonomous Road Inspectors carry out their tasks:
